83 Year Old Grandma Does Tough Mudders to Raise Money for Clean Water in Africa

Is 80 Really Old?

Many people I talk to consider 80’s to be old age but there are certainly some who reject this assumption and this grandmother is one of them!

We came upon this story in The Good News Network and I had to share it with you. “Muddy” Mildred started doing Tough Mudder obstacle course races in 2019 to raise money for clean water in Africa.

She’s already done 3 races and has raised over $2,500 of her $5,000 goal.

There’s so much we take for granted

I didn’t start this blog to be political or to ask for money to support causes I believed in.

I was inspired by this grandmother however, and what women are capable of doing regardless of their age when they have purpose and take care of themselves. I’ve done Tough Mudders and they are not easy races!

Mildred’s story also made me appreciate everything that we have and often take for granted (e.g., clean water) because so many of us live in such abundance.

If you are inspired to support her cause, you can donate to her GoFundMe page.

Action Step:

Whether you decide to support Mildred or not, I’d like you to consider how “old” you feel today.

Chronological age is really just a number and many people are much younger, both physically and mentally, than their chronological age.

If we have meaning and purpose in our lives, live with presence. love and appreciation every day, and try to give more than we receive, you may find that your chronological age has very little meaning!
