Mobile Bike Repairs

Today we had Speed and Sprocket Cycle Works come to our home to make our bikes safer for the season. They’re a mobile bike repair company that will schedule an appointment with you and do whatever you want done on your bikes.

When I first saw them at a local event I wasn’t completely sold on the idea, but as I procrastinated on bringing our 3 bikes into a repair shop and looked at the prices Speed and Sprocket was charging, it was. a no-brainer.

The cost of their services is similar to what the bike shops are charging and they come to your home! You can watch them work and ask questions. Sean and his assistant were super friendly and helpful.

I did end up spending a bit more than I planned because he had so many cool toys that I decided I “needed” for my bike, but hopefully that just means that I’ll get out biking more to use them.

The van literally had everything I asked him for. My street bike ended up with new tires, a speedometer/odometer, a very cool safety mirror and USB charging lights for the front and back.

Sean didn’t try to sell me a bunch of stuff. These were things I asked him for to make my riding experience safer after 15 years without them. He also installed lights and a mirror that I had purchased elsewhere on another one of our bikes.

There’s a minimum labor fee for coming to your home but it’s equivalent to the cost of having one bike tuned up. I would highly recommend their services.

Action Steps:

  • If you’ve been thinking about getting your bike tuned up or just need a few adjustments to get your bike(s) road ready, consider giving them a call and make an appointment.

  • If you prefer your local bike shop, use them. Just get out on your bike and have fun!
