Easy Pickleball Warm Up Stretches

Pickleball is a sport that is growing at a ridiculously fast pace. Unfortunately, so are the rates of injuries related to pickleball.

The following warm up is designed to help get your body ready to play pickleball.

Often, the current “warm up” consists of players spending a few minutes dinking at the net, which means they’re hitting the ball gently back and forth, which does not actually help to warm up your body.

It simply helps you to practice dinking, which then may or may not happen once you start playing, despite the best of intentions!

This pickleball warm up helps to loosen the muscles that you use when moving around the court. It’s a dynamic, meaning moving, warmup getting you ready to play.

These stretches are the ones I try to do before getting on the court and I’ve found them to be very effective.

The short video below shows how to do the dynamic pickleball warm up stretches.

I go through the movements quickly for the purpose of demonstrating them for the video. I would recommend spending at least 15 seconds on each move.
